Sheperherd's Corner Poultry
Our flocks of chickens and turkeys represent 10 different spieces of poultry, among
them the rare Slate Turkey, which has only 100 breeding pairs left in
the country. Turkeys of this breed have three color varieties: all grey, grey with
black spots, and all black. Currently we have turkeys with the (normal) grey-and
black feathers as well as one all black tom (male turkey).
Different breeds of chickens also have unique and often
beautiful plumage. One special favorite as Shepherd's Corner is the Dominique
breed, which features black and white feathers that match the black and white of the
Dominican Order. The different breeds of poultry also lay different colors of eggs -
white, brown, speckeled, and even pale blue/green.
