Fee: $50 Register by April 11
Enjoy the thrill of making your own wine. Learn about the process, techniques, types of wines, and bottling; you will make a one-gallon batch (5 bottles of wine). Father John comes from a family of wine makers, including an uncle who made wine from the wild grapes on his farm and a grandmother whose favorite wine recipes included dandelion wine.
For the first class, you will need a 1.5 to 2 gallon plastic bucket (food quality clean). By the end of 6 months, you will need 6 screw top wine bottles and caps. The kit provided in class will include all the ingredients and the rest of the equipment needed for a one-gallon batch.
The class is 5 sessions over 6 weeks. Father John is available for consultation as you finish the process at home. Wine takes 6 to 9 months to mature before bottling. Participants must be at least 21 years of age.
