Volunteering at Shepherd's Corner

Shepherd's Corner is a small corner of creation seeking to recreate the
land's wholeness by rediscovering the life-giving harmony between the people and the
land. Here, people of all backgrounds can learn to become reconnected with the natural
environment, themselves, one another, and the Creator who made them all.

WHY: Volunteering can be a satisfying and enjoyable experience
for many people. Often workplaces and schools and church groups encourage members to
serve the community as volunteers, or changes in one’s employment or lifestyle can become
an opportunity to volunteer. We rely on the expertise of a host of capable, willing

a place to contribute at Shepherd’s Corner. If you are attracted to our mission,
you might come for an afternoon and stay for a lifetime! Both individuals and

WHAT: Opportunities for service at Shepherd’s
Corner are virtually limitless. Year-round work ranges from gardening to bookkeeping; animal care to building projects. Some work is
perennial and on-going like trail maintenance or animal care and other tasks
focus on a particular project or event. All sorts of skills are needed –or you
just might learn some along the way. Though much work takes place outdoors,
we also have indoor needs. See our

HOW: View our
events calendar to find our next workday, which you can join. Or call us at
614-866-4302 Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. We can usually arrange for a
mutually appropriate time for you as an individual or to schedule your group's service
activity.

GROUP WORK PROJECTS:
Have your
group of 2-20 come for a service day or half day on a weekday or a Saturday.
We ask for one adult per 10 youth under 18 years. Staff will direct the work
project. This could be regular or a one-time event.
|
INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS:
Regulars: Come for a weekly or monthly time
to work or a special project or fill in as needed.
Occasional: Simply finding various volunteer times is rewarding
for some. We are glad to have you.

WORK DAYS:
Join us one Saturday a month for our scheduled Saturday
Work days. Groups or individuals come from 9 am –1 pm and share projects together.
Contact us a week ahead of the published dates to confirm.

SPECIAL EVENTS:
Occasionally we will be engaged in a large- scale event
which requires lots of volunteers. Sign up for these as they are published.
