Getting Your Hands Dirty

Some of our volunteers are getting their hands dirty as help out with our spring planting.

Swampland

The land around Shepherd's Corner was swampland before it was settled, and certain areas are being allowed to revert back to the natural state.

Woodlands

Shepherd's Corner has many acres of new and old woods to explore, complete with hiking trails. We also harvest naturally fallen trees out of our woods for lumber.

Paths through everywhere

Several trails wind through the meadows and woods at Shepherd's Corner. We are currently working on a meditation trail on many of the paths.

Meadow Trails

Several acres of farmland at Shepherd's Corner are being allowed to revert back to meadows. Many trails meander through these beautiful, diverse areas.

Hay fields

60 acres at Shepherd's Corner are used for hay production. This is enough to feed our animals and still have some to sell.

Shepherd's Corner has three acres of gardens for vegetable productions. The produce is sold at our farmer's market or donated to local food pantries.

Blacklick Creek

Shepherd's Corner stretches all the way to Blacklick Creek, which provides a great teaching opportunity for many of the school groups that come to visit.

Drumming the Labyrinth

On of our most popular activities is our outdoor labyrinth. Here a group drums together as they walk the labyrinth.

The Labyrinth

The walls in our all-natural outdoor labyrinth are made from naturally growing native plants. The path to the center winds and twists for three-fourths of a mile.

Land and Sky

One of the many flowering trees at Shepherd's Corner creates a beautiful canopy against a clear blue sky.

Wild and Woolly

One of our previous Dominican Volunteers pets one of our young Southdown sheep. Several acres of Shepherd's Corner are reserved for animal pastures.

Dominique

Meet one of Shepherd's Corner's Dominique chickens (a heritage breed). Our free-range chickens love exploring the land.

The Cob House

We are currently constructing a cob house on the property, complete with wood-buring oven. It will make a great outdoor shelter/classroom.

Veggies Galore

This is just a sampling of some of the produce grown at Shepherd's Corner. For some of your own, check out our Farmer's Market!

The Morning Watch

Fernando, our guard llama, watches over his flock in the early morning fog.
